Chat privacy and beta limits
Updated 26 September 2026. These details supplement the site privacy policy for KuchhBhi Translated Chat.
What is stored
We store your account identifier, chosen chat name and reading language, conversation membership, original messages, generated translations, timestamps, message status, blocks and reports. Chat preferences are separate from your public profile. An invitation is stored as a hash, expires after 24 hours and can be used by one person.
How translation works
For each message, our server sends its text to a configured AI provider. We try OpenRouter (Google Gemini), then Together AI (Qwen), then Vercel AI Gateway (Google Gemini) if an earlier service fails. A fallback can send the same text to more than one provider. We request English, Hindi and Hinglish versions. Your account email and earlier conversation history are not included in this translation request. Provider processing is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We do not promise zero provider retention or that all processing stays in India.
Read the OpenRouter privacy policy, Together AI privacy policy and Vercel privacy policy. Names or personal details you type inside a message are part of the text sent for translation.
Who can read messages
The application restricts conversations to their two participants. Authorized administrators and the service infrastructure can access stored messages for operation, support or abuse investigation. This is not end-to-end encryption. Do not send passwords, payment credentials or sensitive documents.
Public pages and private conversations
The public example uses prepared messages. Private chat pages are marked noindex and excluded from the sitemap. Conversation content is never published as a blog or used as a public translation example. The chat page does not load our advertising or analytics scripts on a fresh page load. We use ordinary account/session cookies for sign-in.
Retention and deletion
There is no automatic message-expiry period in this beta. Messages remain stored until deleted through an administrative or account-deletion process. To request account or conversation deletion, use the contact page from your account email and mention Translated Chat. Deletion is not an instant self-service feature. Copies another person made independently are outside our control.
Blocking and reporting
Blocking stops future messages between the two accounts across their chats; it does not erase prior history. A report includes your explanation and makes the conversation available for administrator review. Reports are not monitored continuously. Use Block if you want to stop messages now.
Limits and availability
- No payment step during this beta; availability and limits may change.
- 60 message attempts per account in a rolling 24 hours, up to 10 per minute.
- 500 characters per message; failed translation attempts also count.
- Up to 10 new invitations per account per 24 hours.
- A shared limit of 1,000 message attempts per 24 hours protects service capacity.
- One-to-one text only: no calls, attachments, group chats or background push notifications.
Accuracy
Translations are generated by AI and may change meaning. Always check the original for important names, amounts, dates and instructions. A successful send means a translated message was saved for the recipient; it is not a read receipt.
