The Dark Side of Finding a Rishta

With millions of profiles existing across online matrimonial apps, a scary new industry has emerged: Matrimonial Cyber Fraud.

Vulnerable parents and hopeful singles are routinely targeted by highly sophisticated scam artists posing as "NRI Engineers" or "Wealthy Businessmen". Before you generate your Marriage Biodata and send it into the wild, you must understand how to protect your family's identity.

Top 3 Scams to Watch Out For

1. The "Customs" Trap

The scammer (often posing as an NRI from the UK or US) builds deep emotional trust over 2 months. They then claim they have flown to India to meet you but are stuck at Airport Customs because they brought you "expensive gold gifts and iPhones" and need ₹50,000 immediately to pay the penalty.
Rule: NEVER send money to someone you met online, no matter the "emergency."

2. The Identity Theft Attack

A match asks for your Aadhar Card or Passport "just to verify you are genuine" before involving their parents. Once you send the high-resolution scan, they vanish. Your Aadhar is then used to open fraudulent bank accounts or take out instant loan apps in your name.

The Fix: If someone demands verification, NEVER send your full Aadhar card. Use the KuchhBhi Aadhar Masker. This tool runs directly in your browser without uploading your file, perfectly blacking out the first 8 digits of your Aadhar so it's legally useless for loans, but perfectly valid for basic identity vetting.

3. The WhatsApp DP Scraper

You give out your primary phone number too early. The scammer adds you, scrapes your Display Picture (DP), and clones your identity across Telegram or sends you phishing links.

The Fix: When a broker or a match asks for a chat, don't necessarily save their number and risk exposing your private Status/DP. Instead, use the WhatsApp Direct Tool. Simply paste their number into the box, and it opens a secure WhatsApp chat window without forcing you to add them to your Google Contacts.

Share Biodatas Securely

When you use the Rishta Biodata Maker, the system is designed heavily around privacy. It runs locally. But remember, the moment you download that PNG/PDF and send it on the internet, it is out of your hands.

Only share your Biodata intimately via forwarded WhatsApp messages to trusted family circles, and use Aadhar Masking when establishing first contact with strangers!
