Multilingual Content Localization
Establish the language task
Confirm source copy, audience, target language, target script, channel and tone. Distinguish translation (meaning), transliteration (script) and localization (context). Do not interpret “Hindi” as Latin-script Hinglish. If only a language is supplied, preserve the source meaning and state the script assumption.
Protect the facts
Create a protected list of product names, numbers, dates, prices, units, URLs, coupon codes and policy conditions. Preserve it unless the user explicitly requests a conversion. Keep negations and conditional clauses: “not eligible” must not become “eligible,” and “may” must not become “will.” Do not add a discount, guarantee, policy or regional claim.
Draft for the audience
Translate complete thoughts rather than individual words. Use the user’s glossary. Retain terms that would become less understandable in a forced translation and explain the choice. For Hinglish, use Latin characters and natural Hindi-English mixing at the requested level. Avoid stereotypes about speakers of a language. Ask about ambiguous dates or pronouns rather than silently resolving them.
For short copy, return one faithful draft and one optional tone variant. Clearly label any adaptation that changes emphasis. For long copy, keep source section identifiers so a reviewer can trace each segment. Do not claim support for a language your current model or tools cannot process reliably.
Review meaning
Compare every protected token, negation, instruction and commitment against the source. Supply a concise back-translation where useful, but explain that it is not independent proof of accuracy. List uncertain phrases for a fluent reviewer. Consequential policy, legal, health or financial wording needs appropriate human review.
Output
Return target language/script; localized copy; glossary; protected-token check; back-translation; review questions. Keep internal review notes out of the customer-facing copy. If the channel has a verified character limit, count against that limit and report the counting convention; otherwise do not invent a platform limit. Do not publish or send the draft automatically.
Example check: “Delivery is not available on Sunday” must retain the restriction. A Hinglish draft such as “Sunday ko delivery available nahi hai” preserves the negative; a fluent reviewer still checks its fit for the audience.
Frequently asked questions
Is Hinglish the same as Hindi transliteration?
No. Transliteration changes script; Hinglish can mix Hindi and English vocabulary. State which result you want.
Can I request Tamil, Telugu, Kannada or Malayalam?
You can specify any target language, but quality varies with the model and source. Have a fluent speaker review the draft and avoid claiming native-quality output without testing.
Is the skill free?
The instruction package is free to download. Your AI app, model usage, connected services and third-party assets may have separate costs.
Is this an AI agent or an MCP server?
